Alison McFarlane
Alison is the Assistant Vice President of Institutional Marketing and Communications at Salt Lake Community College. Alison is a supportive and inspiring leader for both her staff and the SLCC community, possessing incredible poise and patience matched perfectly with a sense of humor. When asked about her thoughts on leadership, Alison said,
“The notion of what I think about leadership has led me down a few different paths. So, here’s what I think it boils down to for me: 1) Leadership is a lot more about determination than desire, and 2) You can only lead people you respect and you can only follow those whom you respect.”
Alison McFarlane travels every day. Some days farther from home than others. She keeps a bag packed with three perfect black outfits at the ready for the next amazing adventure. Home is Salt Lake City, but mind and heart make her a citizen of the world. She reads, writes and dreams about globe-trotting experiences.
